The Ohm is an assisted-braking resistor installed in the safety chain of the first bolt. When a fall occurs, the Ohm will increase rope friction allowing a lighter belayer to hold a heavier partner with greater ease.
The Ohm still allows for smooth slack payout and take-in of rope. The Ohm is suitable for gym use and outdoor climbing.
